Since this is the spot where I ramble on about me I suppose I can answer a few of my most often asked questions:
Why Does it Say JaeByrd? I have used the nickname Jaybird since I was a child on CB radios. When I first started online and in IRC I switched it to JaeByrd to be different and that has been my Internet name ever since.
How Long have you been a Christian? I have been a born again Christian since I was about 10 years old. We are King James Bible Believers.
How did you and your husband meet? In 1993 my sister introduced me, over the phone, to Brandon Staggs. A young man that she knew. He became my penpal and best friend. We wrote for 3 months and fell in love. Another 3 months later we met face-to-face. Not long after that in 1994 we were married.
Early on in our marriage we were told by 3 doctors that we would never have children without medical help. After years of praying for a child God blessed us with our son Nathan Staggs. He is an amazing answer to prayer.
Our 10th Anniversary
Why did you move from Hawaii to Oklahoma?! There are a lot of good reasons. We spent the first ten years of our marriage in Hawaii, where I was born and grew up, and loved it. We’ve spent that last few years here in Oklahoma and also love it. I have to say each place has its pros and cons and right now this is Home.
Homeschoolers? Brandon and I are Homeschoolers by conviction and are homeschooling our son. See Biblical Reasons to Homeschool by my husband Brandon Staggs.
What do you like to do? Well, homeschooling takes up some of my time. I work with Brandon on our Bible Study Software business: StudyLamp.com I also enjoy blogging, cooking/baking, organizing, yard work, exercise, and a variety of arts and crafts.
Are you really a Black Belt? Yes. I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt and a Level 1 instructor. I trained in Tae Kwon Do for 10 years. In addition for several of those years I also taught classes.
