Whats on Your Purse?

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

My Purse goes everywhere with me while I’m out and about and I never thought about the things it comes in contact with….which in turn is usually dumped on the kitchen counter when I get home…. eww ick gross.

Clean your purse and hang it from something. Setting it on your counter/table is like taking your shoes off and putting them where you prepare food.

Now where did I stick the container of Clorox wipes????

Pirates and Autumn

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Avast thar me hearties! How be thou? Okay, so I’m a little bummed that I missed Talk Like a Pirate Day on the 19th and I’m making up for it now. Here is a little pointer to get you started for next year: http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html.

So instead I’ll say Happy First day of Fall. Which according to: http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/astronomy/AutumnalEquinox.html is tomorrow @ 04:02UT. However if you subtract the hours depending on your area it might be today. I got very confused last night looking this up as I found dates ranging from the 21-23. Some calenders say 22nd others say 23rd. So I figure it is safe to say “Hey Autumn!” today. Even though its 90 degrees out there right now and isn’t feeling like fall at all. It did all week up till now.

Either way. Have a great day and weekend.

Room Layout

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Okay, this is just too cool. Usually when we move into a new place we measure out the rooms and make a floor plan using graph paper. Then we measure out the furniture and figure out where we want it in the room. All without having to actually move furniture around. It works pretty well and saves a lot of heavy lifting.

Today I found:
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_wide/text/0,,HGTV_17897_23822,00.html

Its fairly simple to use. Pick a room and adjust the size. Add your furniture. Print. Only thing I don’t like is I didn’t see anything to save a layout.

Of course you could always do the other thing I do…make your house in The Sims.

Have a great day!

Bring on the Fall!

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

We’ve had some cool fall weather and its been wonderful. I’ve gotten to some house and yard projects that I have been putting off until cooler weather. Needless to say I’ve been a bit busy.

Bushes are trimmed back and off the fences. Beds are weeded and trimmed. I decided not to do the fall mulching this time as so much of last year’s mulch ended up in my neighbor’s yard after the spring rains. I have some bushes/trees left to trim. I expect I’ll have to mow a couple more times and then it will be just raking the leaves and mulching them. Until next spring.

Oh yeah, and firewood to chop and pile. I can’t wait till its cold enough to get a fire going again. :)

The other thing that got some fall cleaning was the attic. Sweaters and jackets were pulled out and washed. Everything was gone through and donated or ragged where needed. I can’t wait for all the leaves to start falling and the cool breezes to turn to that crisp nip in the air. I’m ready for fall so bring it on!
